CALLED TO COURAGE

Courage isn't the absence of fear—it's choosing faith in the midst of it. As believers, we are called to courage not because we are strong on our own, but because we serve a God who strengthens us. Joshua 1:9 reminds us of this powerful truth:
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9
God’s Call to Courage
God’s command to Joshua was clear: Be strong and courageous. This wasn’t a mere suggestion—it was a calling. As Joshua stepped into leadership, uncertainty and fear were surely waiting for him. But God didn’t leave Joshua alone—He promised to go with him.
And that same promise applies to us today. Whatever we face, God is with us, giving us the courage to press on.
Courage Comes from Trusting God
True courage isn’t about being fearless—it’s about choosing faith over fear.
- Fear says, “I don’t know what’s ahead.”
- Faith says, “God is leading me.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
- Fear says, “I’m not strong enough.”
- Faith says, “God’s strength is made perfect in weakness.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)
- Fear says, “What if I fail?”
- Faith says, “God is working all things for my good.” (Romans 8:28)
God didn’t call us to a life of timid hesitation—He called us to walk boldly in faith.
How to Walk in Courage Daily
Courage isn’t just for life’s big moments—it’s something we must choose every single day. Here’s how we can do that:
- Stand on God’s Promises – His Word is the foundation of our courage.
- Pray for Strength – Ask God to fill you with boldness and confidence.
- Step Out in Faith – Take action, knowing God is with you.
- Encourage Others – Share His promises to strengthen those around you.
Courage doesn’t mean we won’t face difficulties. But it does mean we can face them with confidence, knowing that the God who calls us to courage is the One who sustains us.
So today, when fear whispers its lies, choose to trust. When doubt creeps in, choose to believe. When hesitation holds you back, choose to step forward in faith. Because you are called to courage, and the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
